Baby album continues! E you're Exciting!

Alright, at this point I just want to say, when you're doing an album of this caliber, or several albums for gifts, it gets tiring (unfortunately). So I'm more in a hurry to complete than I am to practice some of my mixed media skills and such. It's also harder when making an album for someone else who will put their own pics in; this is in comparison to building a memory album for yourself and perhaps reminiscing. It's easier, under those circumstances, to stylize your layouts to your liking and be more creative. But when it's for someone else, and you don't know what photo they might use, it makes it harder in a way.

My lovely deck chairs

YEARS ago I bought several deck chair kits at Ms. Can't believe how long it took me to finally take them out of the box and paint them. Then I had to wait for DH to pry himself away from golf to put them together. Now, to make cushions for them. Of course, that means a trip into Houston to a fabric shop off of 59 and Buffalo Speedway. Forgot the name but I know how to get there. They have the largest selection of outdoor, weather treated fabric:

Oh! that empty space behind the chairs and the grill. Out there on the lawn? That's the future home of our tiki bar/hut. We want it big enough to house the grill. On the outside there will be a counter so guests and family can sit around on the bar stools and eat. Also, I will make (when I have time) stepping stones with mosaic images going all around like a path - which we will need because we have dogs. Need I say more? We're also going to make sure the tiki part looks authentic with fake driftwood signs, metal wall hangings, and things you might find in a Key West bar!

Shabby Chic frame

Taking a break for the baby album project.

A friend of mine was getting ready to throw out an old wooden frame when I asked her for it. I decided to "repurpose" it for the ol' man cave. DH even picked out the colors I used. The frame began as a pine wood color; sorry for not taking a pic of it before I began. The two acrylic paint choices were: Sand by Americana and Bayberry by Folk Art.

After waiting for the paint to dry (applied sloppily of course) I sand papered it. It came out just as I expected...GREAT! :-):
